Welcome to to The Basque Country

The Basque Country concist of seven provinces, three in France, Labourd, Basse Navarre and Soule. The four provinces in Spain are Navarra, Guipuzcoa, Biscaye and Alava. The biggest by far is Navarra. The Spanish part of The Basque Country was granted as
a autonomous community and got the status of nationality within Spain in 1978.

The Basque language is today approxamitly spoken and understod by only one sixthe of the Basque population.

The Basque Country have many names:
Pays Basque - French
Euskadi - Basqu
País Vasco - Spanich
